... or ...

Fire ... as in: WAIT! Don't throw your manuscript into the FIRE! Read this great book instead and improve that crazy writing style of yours!

  1. I don't know if I feel "on fire" right now. I mean, I'm plugging along at my WIP. But I've been kind of "cheating on it" too. Shhh. Don't tell my characters. But I've been hanging out with some other story ideas, because I'm not sure the relationship I'm in with my WIP is going to work out ...

So, more like "too many irons in the fire" than needing to light a fire, I think!

  2. I've got more of a slow burn going right now. Working on a first draft and it's going rather slow but steady. I wish I had a magic fire that would make me burn through it faster.

And I had to laugh. The monthly Insecure Writer's postings are a little like PMS for writers. :P

  3. I'd say I'm in simmering-mode... a constant, gentle bubbling of ideas... just beneath the surface...

  4. MMMMMM I would have to say that how I feel this week i am probably on a low heat right now, but it's probably down to the fact I have a cold!!! But next week I'm sure I will be boiling hot!!

  6. Hehe! Yeah, it might not be good to set things on fire, but the inspiration is there. Just need more time to do everything.

  7. I'm working through with NO excuses for not getting my writing done each day. Period.

  8. Resorting to rubbing sticks together. Matches in my pocket are wet and the tank of gas is empty so I can't get to the store.

  9. I'm trying to set a fire under myself. :)

  10. Ha, Margo! I have been very tempted to make a big bonfire of everything I've been trying to write lately! The fire under me would be very welcome - I'm hoping February will bring that fire as January certainly didn't! I love the humour on your blog! Thanks for visiting mine :-) Linda

  11. I think my WIP is going to be seeing some fire if I can't figure out the stinkin' middle. It's frustrating when you know (somewhat) what you need, but can't find the words to get it on paper!
