Vulnerability is the Birthplace of Creativity

On the eve of my debut novel's birthday, I'm feeling excited AND ... vulnerable. It's a crazy mix of emotions, and it takes my breath away.

Here's an amazing TED Talk that nails how I'm feeling.

"Vulnerability is the birthplace of joy, creativity, belonging, and love."

This talk made me laugh and cry. It's worth the time to watch and listen:

Do you live whole-heartedly with courage, compassion, and connection?

Do you believe you are "enough" - just the way you are?

Hey - You're Okay! You'll be Fine!

I just finished watching another great TED Talk featuring Ze Frank. In the talk, he explained the history behind this song which was very moving. Here is just the song ... and beware, there is some weird static at the end. Enjoy the song and carry on!

Oh but then I discovered there are a bunch of homemade videos for this song, and now here is the best one ... if you like animals ... this one made me cry!!! And the audio is much better than the one above.

Have a great weekend, and remember to just breathe! :)

Oh, and if you'd like to know more about the story behind the song, check this out:

Virtually Connected

I had been walking on my treadmill during the morning news on a regular basis, but since my kids were home for the holidays, I'd gotten out of the habit, overslept, forgotten, etc. Well, this morning I overslept again (I know ... don't weep for me!) and I missed the morning news (because seriously, we only get the local free channels - no cable or satellite stuff for us!). We do have Netflix via the Wii, however, and so I thought I'd find a show to watch on it while I walked. I was in the mood for music of some sort. So I typed "music" into the search box and this is what I found:

It's amazing. Watch the whole thing (it's 14 minutes, but well worth it).

We are all connected ... if we choose to be.

I've made so many wonderful friends through this blog and other writing websites. You're all the best, and I appreciate your voices in my head ... at least I hope those are your voices ... if not ... well, let's just say they are!!!

What music are you listening to right now?
