School Visit at CHS

I had a great time with the students of the Columbia High School Creative Writing Club today. We created a great mash-up story ... combining elements of everyone's novel ideas into one plotline.

A budding witch must reunite with her brother to save him before the sun explodes. Along the way she teams up with a professional gamer and a hacker, but they are stopped in their tracks when they realize they must chop up bodies in order to find a man named John who holds the secrets for the witch to control her newfound powers.

These writers are going to have a GREAT and successful November working on their projects!

This was "supposed" to be a funny picture, but I think I was overly enthused about the idea. ;)

Writing Interrupted

Well, the last four weeks have been CRAZY ... my two boys graduated from high school, my middle boy finished his Eagle Scout project, and then we took our middle boy to college.

*sigh*

Mitchell and Jacob graduated from Columbia HS.

Pillow case (says: no girls allowed) that I made for Jacob. His grandmother made the quilt for him nearly ten years ago.

Both exhausted after hours of packing, driving, and unpacking.

Graduating Seniors: Jacob

I have two graduating high school seniors! YIKES. This month is so crazy already, and it's only the first week.

I thought you might enjoy seeing the announcements I made for my boys (it printed front & back 5x7 postcard style). Today, I'll share Jacob's (my seventeen-year-old), and Monday, I'll share Mitchell's (my eighteen-year-old). Yes, they're nearly twins at just 11 months apart! Jacob skipped a grade in school, and so that's why they are graduating together.

Asking for a Favor!

Dear Wonderful Blogging Buddies,

One week from today, Monday 4/2/12, I will launch my BOOK DRIVE for Columbia High School.

I know a lot of you are participating in the April AtoZ Challenge. If you haven't already written your post for the "B" day - please title it "Book Drive" and send your followers over to my blog.

If you are not participating in the AtoZ Challenge, please consider also writing a post about the book drive and send your followers over here.

If you'd like me to send the content of the post early (so you can simply repost it on your site), I'd be happy to. I'm also in the process of designing a "badge" for the event. Let me know if you'd like it beforehand.

Your help is greatly appreciated. My goal is to donate at least 500 books. All of the details will be up by 2am PST, Monday the 2nd. Feel free to copy and paste any or all of it onto your blog that day. If you'd like a sneak peek at the content, email me, and I will send it to you.

Thanks for all of your support.

Sincerely,

Margo Kelly
