IWSG Question of the Month: What are your pet peeves when reading/writing/editing?
Hmm.
My pet peeves - - -
When reading, my pet peeves are being interrupted or accidentally falling asleep.
When writing, my pet peeves are struggling to find the perfect word or being distracted by noises.
When editing, my pet peeves are discovering I overused certain words and running out of chocolate.
haha
What are your pet peeves when it comes to reading/writing/editing?
(Dog hair is not a valid answer to this question.)
Replace that chocolate with cheese, and YES! LOL. =)
ReplyDeleteOverusing certain words was something I used to do until I kept a list of them. So when I finished writing a book, I looked them up one by one and cut out as much as possible. After doing that for a few projects, I no longer need that list. I leave those words out from the start without even realizing it.
ReplyDeleteSame here, Chrys. I will re-read and see same word over and over, grab Lindt chocolate, and edit.
ReplyDeleteRunning out of chocolate - now that's a disaster!!! Stock up!!! The freezer is my secret. :) Although, plan ahead, thaw first, don't allow yourself to become desperate! Because chomping down on a frozen piece can cause other problems! LOL
ReplyDeleteVery valid pet peeves, especially running out of chocolate. I've come to grips with the fact I am going to overuse certain words. The search function has become an actual step in my editing.
ReplyDeleteRunning out of chocolate?! Yikes! I fear that!
