I love to read! And, I love Goodreads.com, because it allows me the opportunity to look back at what I've read during 2011 ... and remember the joy (and pain) of some noteworthy books.
First, a few important notes:
1. These are books I read during 2011 ... not necessarily books that were published in 2011.
2. For the "best" list, I'm only considering the books I had rated five stars.
3. For the "worst" list, I'm only considering the books I had rated one star.
Drum roll please ...
Best books of 2011 (My top five favorites in order of preference):
The Worst Books of 2011 (I only gave three books this year a one-star rating, and they were all equally gag worthy ... blech):
To read my reviews for any or all of the above books, visit: http://www.goodreads.com/
I read less than normal in 2011 ... only 26 books.
How many books did you read in 2011?
And, if you don't know ... then sign up on Goodreads! It's fun! And, be sure to "friend" me on there when you do sign up!
I read 112 books this year, but that was only eight months worth of reading. (I had no time during the other four.) So I'm hoping for 150 in 2012.
ReplyDeleteThursday is a weird but wonderful read. ONe of my faves.
ReplyDeleteI think i read about 30 or so books this year. I found blogging cut into my reading time quite a lot.

The Funnily Enough
I read 42 books this year, which for me is MORE than usual. I've upped my goal for next year so that it's 43 :D But perhaps as happened this year, when I get closer to that goal I'll up it even more. We'll see.
ReplyDeleteI read FALSE MEMORY ages ago and to be honest, wasn't a huge fan. But maybe that's compared with my all time fave Dean Koontz books that can never ever be bettered by newer stuff he writes. ;)
Don't know how many books I read this year. I need to be better about updating 'Goodreads'.
ReplyDeleteI have to agree with you on 'Native Tongue'. Carl really disappointed me with this one.
thanks for all the book recs! i got Under the Dome for xmas!
ReplyDeletei was only able to read 10 books, but i got thru 3 edit rounds on my ms and keep improving & learning all the time
ps, tell me why under the dome was a bad pick before i take it on!
ReplyDeleteI maybe read 25 books this year. Like Mooderino, blogging has definitely cut into my reading. I enjoy reading people's blogs so much.
ReplyDeleteI read fast so get through a lot, but I've started more than I've finished. Recently I've decided not to persevere with books that don't grab me in the first chapter - there are so many good books, why bother with the ones that don't appeal?
ReplyDeleteI read a lot, but have no idea how many. I just joined goodreads-should have done this a long time ago. It will be good to track the number in 2012 and I will add that to my growing list of goals.
ReplyDeleteJust popping in to wish you a Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteI read 52 books in 2011 and I love Goodreads for the same reasons you do too. I want to go back and check out all your books. cheers
ReplyDeleteI haven't read anything on your top picks list. I'll have to check them out. I did *try* to read Under the Dome. SK is one of my favs, but I couldn't get through it.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I haven't read any of these. Have you read King's new book? I've heard a couple of people rave about it.
ReplyDeleteI read 128 books in 2011.
Tara - I tried so hard to read Under the Dome by SK, but I felt like there was so much unnecessary violence and foul language that I just couldn't keep going. You can read my full review on goodreads.com
ReplyDeleteTheresa - no I haven't tried more SK recently.
