I recently went camping for ten days. Yes, I love being in the woods. However, I hate dirt and bugs - so it's an interesting conundrum for me! Below are a few pictures, and over the next several days, I'll post reviews of some of the books I read during the trip. YAY for books!
Except for the creepy bugs - we had a terrific time! :)
One are one brave woman! Our last camp out was in "Dark canyon", and was "rough camping" There was a spigot and a porta potty. We lasted only one day. But 10 days with family and in a great spot--I can do that with pleasure!
ReplyDeleteWe have to haul in our own water and dig our own latrine, but we've got a nice system down. ;) And my husband built a terrific box toilet - with a real toilet seat - to go over the hole in the ground.
DeleteWe used to love camping too, but we've grown soft and take a trailer these days. That is one impressive tent in the first couple of pictures. Apart from dirt and bugs the biggest headache for me is not being able to stand upright indoors if the weather turns nasty. Most tents make that difficult but it looks like you've got that aspect sorted.
ReplyDeleteAnd I love that campfire. Last year when we traveled, at the start of July, there was already a province-wide fire ban in effect.
Oh - I totally agree about needing to stand up in the tent. Ours is quite tall. We can stand straight without even touching the top of the tent. I do love it. :)
DeleteGlad you had a good time!
ReplyDelete(We're campervanners - that makes avoiding bugs a little easier)
