#IWSG: Reworking An Old Story

The first Wednesday of the month is Insecure Writer's Support Group day!

http://www.insecurewriterssupportgroup.com/

Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

This month's questions are:
Have you ever pulled out a really old story and reworked it? Did it work out?

My answers:
Yes, and not yet.

How's that for the shortest answers ever? I do have an old story I'm passionate about, and one day, it will be published! I'm determined, but now is not the right time and the story is not quite ready yet.

In the meantime, I will continue working on other projects, because writers write. ;)

Have a great week.

  1. I have many ideas I'd like to rework but I don't know if I'll ever get around to them!

  2. That works for me. I've got a folder of "burning ideas" that I'm just dying to get to, but there's a line and priority to things that must be written first. It's torture. But hey, that's what we live for, eh?

  3. Great group! I am a young writer, I want to join your community. I want to say most often I use the help of this source 99papers but hope in the nearest future I will be able to write great essays by myself.

  4. Amen to that! Writers write and writers read. The time will come when you feel the need to finish your story. Just continue to write.
    All the best.

  5. I like your brief answers so I'll follow in kind.

    Many times. Sometimes.

  6. Well, he does want #IWSG posts to be brief. You've done that! Good luck with the second half the question.

  7. That's the spirit! My husband teaches math, and when students whine "I can't do this," he responds, "You can't do this YET."

  8. Recently I dug out my first book, a romance novel, written 36 years ago. I gave it to my daughter to proof and have not heard back from her.

I don't think I want to dig into it, since I am writing in a different genre. When I wrote that, I got pregnant and folded it up.
