Welcome to YA Scavenger Hunt!

I'm Margo Kelly, and I'll be your hostess for this leg of the hunt. I write thrillers, and I'm excited to share my novel, UNLOCKED, with you during this event! Somewhere along this scavenger hunt, I've shared exclusive content related to UNLOCKED, and clear down at the bottom of this post, I'm giving away a signed hardback copy of it (exclusive to readers of this post)! Yup. That's right.

(So be sure to enter the Rafflecopter giveaway at the bottom of this post before you hop off to the next site in the scavenger hunt!)

By the way, you are currently hunting on TEAM GOLD.

This bi-annual event was first organized by author Colleen Houck as a way to give readers a chance to gain access to exclusive bonus material from their favorite authors ... and a chance to win some awesome prizes! At this hunt, you not only get access to exclusive content from each author, you also get a clue for the hunt.

Add up the clues, and you can enter for the prize -- one lucky winner will receive:

But play fast: this contest (and all the exclusive bonus material) will only be online until noon on Sunday, October 7, 2018!

Go to the YA Scavenger Hunt page to find out all about the hunt. There are multiple contests going on simultaneously, and you can enter one or all! I am a part of the GOLD TEAM -- but there are other teams, each with a different set of books!

  1. I like reading stories about hypnosis but I don't have any strong feelings about it otherwise!

  2. FUN STORY! So in high school, I went to a hypnotist show (actually I was like in 8th grade) and this guy was hypnotised to think he was Tim McGraw, and he signed autographs. He thought he was until the MOMENT he stepped over the line of the auditorium to the hallway. I lost the "autograph" but I went on a date with the boy who, when my sister and I were talking about it, he went "THAT WAS ME!" but he couldn't prove it cause we lost the autograph. He did know about the pink shirt though, so maybe. But then in college they did more only these WERENT G rated and at first I really wanted to join (I'd seen it twice, idk if he came back the third year I didn't go to Eagle Insomnia that last yer) but then I realized nope. R rated. I was glad I wasn't called down. At one point I remember boys slapping themselves every time they thought about sex which was like every second. And the girls on stage, one of them slapped themselves a couple times. I blocked the rest from my brain. I think they were told to act like chickens. I'll never forget in high school, they were told to put their hands in a bucket of acid and when one hesitated he knew they weren't really hypnotized but a ton of them did and sitting in the audience i was like OMG WHAT IF IT WAS ACTUALLY ACID I DONT TRUST HIM WHY ARE YOU PEOPLE STICKING YOUR HANDS IN THE BUCKETS (I wasn't allowed to participate cause of course, I was no where near whatever age it was 16 or 18 or something).

  3. Hypnosis terrifies me! I feel like I'm very easily persuaded so I would be an easy target!

  4. I love reading stories with that element but no sure if I believe in it. Thank you for this most excellent chance.

  5. Fun times! I see this Scavenger Hunt every year and think I should come play along. Alas, not this time. I wish all the hunters a happy adventure!

  6. This is so cool! Someone mentioned it the other day and I had no idea what this was… and then I found this! :)

  7. What do I think about hypnosis? I saw a therapist years ago who used hypnosis and it helped a lot. However, I'm not sure about someone being hypnotized to do something. But I keep an open mind.

  8. I went to a hypnotist show once and it doesn't appeal to me. I think maybe for therapy reasons it may be ok but I hate the idea of having someone else in my head.

  9. I’m not sure I believe in full hypnosis but it’s a terrifying thought that someone could meamorise and control your moves and erase any memory of it. Thanks for being a part of the hunt!

  10. Hypnosis is stimultaneously creepy and cool and sounds like a great premise for a story! -- Annie-Jo

  11. I enjoy stories with hypnosis, but I'm a bit of a skeptic. I think I'd have to experience or see it to have a firm opinion on it. Thank you for being a part of the hunt and for doing an amazing giveaway!!

  12. I don't know about if I believe it or not. My grandfather was hypnotized many years ago to quit smoking, and it worked. I've tried it before, with a weight loss thing, and it didn't seem to work at all, I don't even remember feeling like I wasn't wide awake. So I'm probably a skeptic.

  13. I find it really interesting in how it works

    ReplyDelete
  14. It's demonic and a way to manipulate people which I don't like.

    ReplyDelete
  15. I think hypnosis is really interesting and funny! I saw the hypnotist Jim Wand perform all four years I was in college, and he's fantastic! I've never been hypnotized myself, but I wouldn't mind trying it in an embarrassment-free setting.

  16. I am curious as to if it works! My Dr. Asked if I have ever thought about doing it to quit smoking.

    ReplyDelete
  17. I do not think that hypnosis would work on me but I think it could on people who are susceptible!

  18. Coincidentally, I just went to a hypnotist show a couple weeks ago. As a skeptical person, I have a hard time believing that "hypnotisim" can be real, but the show was still fun. The hypnotist argued that it only works if you allow yourself to get to a state where you are so relaxed, that you are fine with doing pretty much whatever he says. Some people it didn't really work on, but it is an interesting concept.

  19. I think its an interesting concept, though I'm not too sure it would ever work on me as I'm very cautious when it comes to stuff like that. But hey, you never know!

    ReplyDelete
  20. I'm really curious about it. I have looked into it, but that is as far as it has gotten.

    ReplyDelete
  21. I'm not sure I believe in hypnosis. I do believe you have to have a personality that is "suggestible". If you have no belief it will not work.

    ReplyDelete
  22. I think it seems to work for some people. Thanks for participating in YASH

    ReplyDelete
  23. I think hypnosis is fascinating, but not as real as we think it is. I would love to learn how to hypnotize people, however. That would be cool

    ReplyDelete
  24. I am very intruiged by it and I love reading about this and watching it happen.

    ReplyDelete
  25. It's interesting for sure. It's never happened to me, but I'm sure it works for others. Lol

    ReplyDelete
  26. I think it is interesting, how it works! I took a psychology class that brought a hypnotist to class. Not sure it worked on me, but was still interesting.

    ReplyDelete
  27. Not sure. But it makes for entertaining research. ^_^

    ReplyDelete
  28. It’s an interesting concept and makes for good books/movies/shows but I personally don’t believe in it.

    ReplyDelete
  29. It can work and be helpful to people. I also believe it can be really dangerous if the person doing it is not trustworthy. Main thing is that if you don't want to be hypnotized it really won't happen.

    ReplyDelete
  30. i honestly dont know one way or the other if itw orks Ithink that its all about trust and th e belief so i think its ok to be used if used for the right reasons and not just aparlor trick
